Recently I came across an article in the Chronicle of Philanthropy, How Millennials Lead. The article discussed how young CEO's lead with creativity, transparency and equity.
Almost 10 years ago I sought to carve my own path - eventually launching Blue Umbrella Fundraising. The Chronicle feature allowed me to reflect on why I started out in the nonprofit industry - in pursuit of high-impact strategies, meaningful partnerships and life balance. I dug up an article I wrote for Board Member magazine in 2010 and I feel amazingly affirmed for staying the course. I encourage us all to make our optimism come true. Remember, there is a brighter side somewhere. Do not stop until you find it.
